Privacy Policy

Information we collect

• Account: name, email, password (hashed), and your role (client or barber).
• Profile & content: avatar, bio, posts and photos you upload, captions, likes, comments, and saved items.
• Hair Profile: the hair record and reference photos you choose to keep, and the cut history barbers add. This is private to you and shared only with barbers you grant access.
• Bookings: appointment times, the barber and service, and status.
• Location (optional): if you grant permission, approximate coordinates to show nearby barbers. You can decline and still use the app.
• Diagnostics: crash and error reports, the installed app version and build, and a pseudonymous account ID used to identify repeated failures. Reports exclude profile details, messages, photos, screen captures, and view hierarchies.

Photos and metadata

We strip location (EXIF/GPS) data from images on upload so your photos don’t reveal where they were taken. Hair Profile reference photos are stored privately and served only to you and barbers holding a valid grant.

Photos of you taken by your barber

A barber may add after-cut photos to your cut history. These are private by default: they appear in your Hair Profile and are never published to the public feed unless you give explicit, per-photo permission in the app. You can withdraw that permission at any time; withdrawing it removes the photo from the feed immediately and returns it to private. A photo of a minor additionally requires a parent or guardian’s consent before it can appear publicly. Deleting your account deletes your photos.

How we use it

To run the core features — accounts and sign-in, the feed, instant booking, Hair Profile sharing, and diagnosing crashes — and to keep the service safe (e.g. reviewing reported content). We do not sell your personal information or use it for advertising or tracking.

Who can see what

The feed and barber profiles are public. Your email, bookings, and Hair Profile are private. A barber can read your Hair Profile only through a valid, non-expired grant, and every access is logged for you to review. You can revoke a grant at any time.

Service providers

We use Supabase (database, authentication, storage), Vercel (hosting), and Sentry (crash and error diagnostics) to operate the service. They process data on our behalf under their own terms.

Your rights

You can access and update your information in the app. You can delete your account in the app (Profile, then Settings, then Privacy, then Delete account); deletion removes your profile, photos, bookings, and reviews. For a copy of your data, email us and we will provide it. Depending on where you live (e.g. California/CCPA), you may have additional rights to access, delete, and opt out of sale (we don’t sell data).

Age

Vadd is not intended for children under 13, and minors should use it only with verifiable guardian consent.
